Meet Production Technician Harvey Date

What is your role at Electrified Motors?
I’m a Production Technician and currently work in final assembly where I help build the motors before they’re tested and shipped.

How long have you been at Electrified Motors?
I’m still relatively new, so there’s a lot I’m learning at the moment. I’m confident with the assembly side of the process, but I’m continuing to develop my understanding of motor testing and how everything works together.

How did you find the learning curve when you started?
Like any new job the first few days were challenging while I got to grips with everything. After that though things settled down quickly.

Everyone has been really helpful and there’s always someone willing to answer questions or explain something if you need support.

What were you doing before joining Electrified Motors?
I was working in another manufacturing role. A lot of the skills transfer across because production environments are generally process-driven.

What do you enjoy most about working as a Production Technician at Electrified Motors?
The atmosphere is really good. Everyone is friendly and approachable and you can talk to anyone regardless of their role.

It doesn’t feel like there’s a hierarchy where certain people are difficult to approach. Everyone is willing to help.

What interests you most about working at Electrified Motors?
The learning aspect has been the most interesting part for me. It’s different from what I’ve done before because it’s focused on electrical technology and electric motors.

Understanding how the products work and learning about the technology behind them has been really enjoyable.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Football is a big interest of mine. I enjoy playing and watching it whenever I can.
